Gillies Books and Papers

Harold Gillies realised early in the development of the “strange new art” that recording which procedures worked, and which did not, was essential to teaching others how to perform plastic surgery.

Key to that was publication, both in the form of books and papers within the periodical surgical literature (journals). With two seminal textbooks to his name, and multiple published papers, Harold Gillies significantly contributed to the organised body of work advancing knowledge of the specialty.

Here we explore not only those works Gillies and his co-authors produced under his direction, but the papers published about him.
