Training and Trainees

Training a next generation of plastic surgeons has been integral to the specialty in Britain since its organised inception by Harold Gillies at Sidcup. A fundamental aim of BAPRAS remains to advance education in all aspects of plastic surgery.

The many facets of how that training evolved, and how the trainees themselves navigated the often arduous pathway to becoming fully fledged plastic surgeons is the focus of this gallery.
