Home Collections “Hescherson’s” Hands “Hescherson’s” Hands Hands are, naturally, objects of fascination for the surgeon involved in restoring their complex and intricate function. This gallery of hands by James sums up the fusion between his professional life and hobby. It includes James’s interpretations of well known pieces of art featuring hands, including Escher’s well-known “Drawing Hands”, Michaelangelo’s “Creation of Adam” and Durer’s “Praying Hands”. The latter two are depicted on blank operating note sheets, onto which details of all operations are recorded in the patient’s notes.
