Depictions of the hand

Two depictions of hands at rest and in a striking pose.

The first ink and watercolour image below is of a right hand in repose is from 2016 and was used by the British Society for Surgery of the Hand to illustrate the front cover of its autumn meeting programme that year.

The second image to the right, is an ink and watercolour over pencil on paper depiction of a male right hand at full span. In apparently simple strokes of his pen, the artist has captured the exact proportions and essential elements of the human hand.
